Zara have released images of their AW16 campaign.
I think it reminds me of the Vogue grunge shoot from 1993. The famous Grace Coddington shoot with Stella Tennant and Naomi Campbell. I'm feeling it. However, I'm a sucker for photoshoots that place unusual textures in unusual settings. So I love velvet and sequins in an outdoor setting.
Zara are having a bit of a bad time at the minute. They've been accused of copying artwork from LA designers. To be fair, they aren't the only huge brand doing it this at the moment. A practice which is completely unfair and horrible. I'm feeling for the artists involved who have had to watch their work turn up in other stores. It's made me feel a bit differently about Zara to be honest.
But then the high street is having a very bad time lately with ethical behaviour. See Philip Green for example. Google his involvement with BHS. Go on.....I'll wait...
So there are a whole range of textures, fun and girl gangs to be had in the ZARA look book. I'm sure this won't be the only offering we see from the brand either. They move very quickly usually with a few different pieces. I'm almost sure this is the last major look book from the high street for next season to come in though. A little bit later then usual.
The story is strong though. The ZARA woman for next season is in tune with nature. She likes a dance either indoors or out. I'm not really able to focus that well on the clothing which I am sure the brand would be delighted with. Spend all that money on clothing and photography only to have it be overshadowed by everything else.
I'll try and organise a cut out post later this week. 😍😍😍
