Bright Culotte and a Standout Topper

Those bleak mid Winter days when the weather forecast says ‘cold’ or the weather guy/chick’s voice bellows out 'be sure to bring your umbrellas, it will be a level 3 storm today; Also expect gusty winds and freezing temps' are great reminders that Spring is still a ways from us. Sigh. Would be nice to light some candles, cozy up under the covers with a latte and just listen to the rain. I love doing just that.

But if you got stuff to do and are a fashionista that loves to sashay down the streets (your very own personal runway) then don’t let the cold, wet, slippery and dark days deter you. Breakout a <<you guessed it>>, a bright standout coat and face nature square in the face. Makes solid sense right? ‘Nature ain't got nuffin on you’ after all . Ok get serious Idu, hehe. But honestly, nothing would brighten your day quite as much.

Culottes have been having a moment in fashion, tricky as they are to pull off. They haven't been much of a fashion fixation for me as good ole midi pencil skirts have been, in fact I own only three - a grey, a blue and this yellow. However, my day was doubly brightened by the bright yellow culotte paired with a standout orange topper. If you think I stopped at those, you’ve got another think coming cos yours truly also wore brights on her feet. Wait a minute, isn’t yellow also considered the color of happy? Think 'happy feet' then, literally :)).

All in all, a very upbeat look. And you better believe the happy created by the brights was contagious. I shot in front of my home and not a neighbor drove by that was too much in a hurry to smile big smiles, wave big waves and say kind words. My happy rubbed off on them I guess.
