OSUN STATE GOVERNOR AND BEN BRUCE CLASH OVER BEN'S WARDROBE ALLOWANCE DONATION TO UNPAID WORKERS

A faceoff ensued on Thursday between Osun State Governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola and Senator representing Bayelsa East Senatorial district, Ben Murray Bruce over Ben's announcement that he will be donating his wardrobe allowance of over 500,000 naira ($2,500) to unpaid workers in Osun state and widows in his home state of Bayelsa State.
Ben said he would give the money to the Chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress in Osun State to distribute to unpaid workers.
Osun State Governor, Aregbesola has described Ben Bruce's announcement as the height of hypocrisy and wondered why he singled out Osun state out of the 18 states of the federation that had not paid its workers salaries for several months.
The Governor through the Director, Bureau of Communication and Strategy, Mr. Semiu Okanawon said that it was sad that Ben Bruce was politicising and trivialising the salary issue affecting more than half of the states in Nigeria.
